Botulinum toxin is
a prescription medicine.

No course can change that. It must be prescribed by a prescriber who has assessed that specific patient face to face — so anyone selling you a one-day route to injecting independently is misleading you.

A London academy, clear about the law

TBN Aesthetics Academy Ltd is a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 13085376, incorporated in December 2020, with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, London WC2H 9JQ. Clinic treatments are provided by practitioners registered with their own regulator under [PRACTITIONER REGISTRATION DETAILS], and where a regulated activity is carried on we are registered with the CQC under [CQC PROVIDER ID].

Three things this sector too often leaves unsaid. Botulinum toxin is a prescription-only medicine: only a prescriber who has personally assessed the patient can prescribe it, no course changes that, and we supply no medicines to delegates. Administering botulinum toxin or cosmetic fillers to anyone under 18 for cosmetic purposes is a criminal offence in England — we neither teach it nor do it, even with parental consent. And we state whether a certificate is Ofqual-regulated or simply a certificate of attendance, because the difference matters to insurers and to patients.

Frequently asked

The questions we get most

Will this course let me inject botulinum toxin independently?

No. It is a prescription-only medicine, and it must be prescribed by a prescriber who has personally assessed that patient face to face. No training course can change that, and anyone implying otherwise is misleading you.

Is your certificate a recognised qualification?

We tell you before you book. Where a route is Ofqual-regulated we name the awarding organisation and qualification number. Where it is a certificate of attendance, we say that plainly — much of this market blurs the two.

Can you treat my 17-year-old?

No. Administering botulinum toxin or cosmetic fillers to an under-18 for cosmetic purposes is a criminal offence in England, and parental consent does not change that. We will refuse.

Will I be insurable after the course?

Insurers set their own entry requirements and we cannot speak for them. We will tell you what they typically ask for, and you should confirm cover with an insurer before you start treating anyone.

Do you supply the products for delegates to practise with?

We do not supply prescription-only medicines to delegates, and we will not arrange prescribing for patients a prescriber has not assessed. Training providers who do are creating a serious problem for everyone involved.

What happens if something goes wrong in practice?

That is what the complication content is for, and it is taught as core rather than sold as an advanced extra. Vascular occlusion recognition and immediate response is the part that matters most.

Not sure if you are eligible?

Ask before you book. We will tell you honestly, including when the answer is no.
